TT 238-B Vs. ANNECKE (No Caps)


The
GREEN background is the better of the two ATUs on that band.
On some bands it was difficult to pick a winner. One ATU might have more RF Current, while the other ATU has better Balance.
The 238-B has significantly better results on 80m and 40m compared to the ANNECKE without the caps mod. RF Current is close on higher bands but the 238-B has better balance.

The 15m band had horrible balance, regardless of which ATU was used.
I suspect the metal guard rail on the house balcony is interacting with it.

ANNECKE CAPs-MOD
I modified my ANNECKE about 35 years ago, adding 60pF capacitors in each of the two output lines.

As can be see in the table on the right, with the caps "in", it was better on all bands, 30m and above. Current was about the same in both versions on 40m, but the balance was better with the caps "in".
80m was better with the caps "out".
